Bonnie Lee Panda
voice of an angel - back by popular demand
A
25-year old Cheshire, CT native, Connecticut Magazine recognizes Panda
as one of the new generation of singer/songwriters in Connecticut with
a big voice and telegenic looks. Bonnie Lee considers her music to be a
twist of country, blues and pop, with a touch of classical style. When
she begins to sing and play her acoustic guitar, "her voice resonates
throughout the room until everything else just fades away (Shannon
Becker, Cheshire Herald). In 2004, Bonnie Lee advanced into the
regional finals in the Nashville Star Competition, after winning the
local finals. She performed live on WWYZ Country 92.5's Christmas show
broadcasted from the Mohegan Sun Casino.
For the past
year, Bonnie Lee has been touring coffee shops and clubs throughout the
Northeast, including The Postcrypt in NYC, Nameless Coffeehouse in
Cambridge, MA, and The Space in Hamden, CT. She recently started
hosting the reputable Vanilla Bean Coffeehouse open mic on the first
Friday of the every month in Pomfret, CT. After seeing Bonnie Lee
perform, Ralph Hohman from the Record Journal stated that "her
presentation was relaxed and confident, her voice commanding and
expressive." Bonnie has donated her time and talents in performances at
assisted living and nursing homes, shelters, benefits for recovery
centers, for hunger and homelessness awareness, and other events for
worthy causes. Bonnie says about her passion for singing and her love
of songs:
“I
love to perform and share my music with others. From the time I was
eight I knew my passion was singing. I would spend hours in my bedroom,
singing along with the radio with a hairbrush as my microphone. I was
shy at first, but my passion helped me overcome that. This is what I'm
meant to do!”
