Four Block Buster Acts!
special appearances by past performers
The Milford Fine Arts Coucil Performance Coffeehouse announces a change to their May 25th Coffeehouse. Four talented and accomplished past Coffeehouse performers will be sharing the stage on Friday, May 25th at 8 pm. This special evening is made possible by the following artists:
Stacy Phillips - Internationally acclaimed resonator guitarist and violin player. He has performed with the top acoustic musicians all over the world. He has three solo albums and is the featured artist on the Grammy award-winning album The Great Dobro Sessions. Stacy is the author of over 25 books and DVD's on various aspects of his chosen instruments. Stay appeared in our 2004/2005 season. For more information visit Stacy's website at www.stacyphillips.com
Bennett Harris - Our February Coffeehouse artist is back by popular demand. This very special Delta blues man's intricate finger picking guitar style was taught to Bennett by the late Ian Buchanan. This string weaving generates a carnival-like, upbeat sound of the ragtime era, providing a warm texture behind Bennett's emotional singing and harmonica playing. Bennett Harris has performed at such venues as the Turning Point, Cafe Lena, Godfrey Daniels, the Bayou, the Rosendale Cafe, and at various festivals and clubs throughout the Northeast. Liz McNicholl - When Liz Dolan of County Meath arrived in the States in 1985 she planned to stay for a year. Nineteen years and two children later, Liz shares her wonderful rich voice with audiences in New York and Fairfield County. Liz brings music to life, combining Irish tradition with the excitement of contemporary folk styles. Joining Liz onstage will be Morgan Eve Swain, Chuck O'Donnell, Fred McKay and John Hurley. Cece Borjeson and Ruth George - Folk duo Cece Borjeson and Ruth George return to the Performance Coffeehouse to perform their original songs on pennywhistle, bodhran, guitars and more! You'll be sure to want to sing along with this unique blend of folk and Celtic music. Cece and Ruth were with us in March. Visit their website at www.ceceandruth.com
