Class details:
The goal of the classes is to introduce the participants to the music and dance of tango in the authentic Argentine tradition. Each class starts with various walking exercises as a warm-up and as a technical practice. Then the basic step and various figures are taught. In about a eight-week period, the beginners can learn the basic step, the “ochos” and “molinetes” which are the fundamental figures of Argentine Tango. In addition, another dance related to tango “Milonga” is also taught, so that the participants are ready for dancing at various tango parties, which always feature this dance as well. During the class, the music is also emphasized. Various traditional recordings are used, and the music of various prominent tango musicians is introduced to the participants, using our extensive tango-recording library.
