New England Guitar Society, 6th Annual Members’ Concert

Program: Classical music and other musical styles from around the world performed on classical guitars by NEGS members.
The New England Guitar Society (NEGS) will present its sixth annual members’ concert event on July 11, 2009 at the MFAC Hall in Milford. The performance will feature NEGS members of all ages and diverse backgrounds, including professional performers and guitar lovers of various levels. The festive activity will include guitar solos and duets. The repertoire will reflect the diverse backgrounds and interests of the NEGS members: Latin Music from south America as well as compositions by Albeniz, Sor, Brouwer, Villa-Lobos, Giuliani and others.
The New England Guitar Society is established to create a nurturing environment for classical guitarists to meet, share ideas, perform, compose, teach and grow as musicians. Its goal is to increase the public interest in classical guitar, to ultimately create future players and audiences. It was created under the auspices of the Milford Fine Arts Council in 2004 with James Baird as the president and Cem Duruöz as the artistic director.
