Artist Prospectus

Theme:

Show us your interpretation of “Living Color” in the natural world - your interpretation of the colors found in nature. If you pay attention, you will notice the splendid colors in nature – the plumage of birds, the lichens and moss on rock, the blue sky reflected on lakes and rivers.

Dates:

March 21 – April 14, 2019

Eligibility:

Up to 2 original 2- or 3-dimensional artwork accepted, any media.

All submissions must be be brought to the Firehouse Gallery: Thursday, March 7 between 2:00 – 7:00 PM

Work must be recent (up to five years old) and NOT previously exhibited at the MAC Firehouse Gallery. Two-dimensional works must be framed and wired for hanging. No exceptions.

Artwork Size:

24″ x 36″ (maximum size for each of two submissions)

Submission Fee:

One entry: $35, Two entries: $45

(submission fee includes a non-refundable $10 jury fee)

Members of MAC & CAGCT: $5 off

Acceptance of Artwork:

Works not selected by the jury must be picked up on Saturday, March 9 or Sunday, March 10, 12:00 – 4:00 PM Artwork not picked up within 7 days of scheduled date will become the property of MAC.

Opening Reception:

Firehouse Gallery: Thursday, March 21, 5:30 – 7:00

Awards:

Cash awards for first, second and third place winners

Juror:

Robin Gilmore Jopp is an artist and proprietor of Made In Bridgeport. She is a teaching artist for City Lights Gallery and Arts for Learning and many community based programs in Fairfield County. Her jewelry designs can be found in many locations throughout CT. Interested in how things are made and the story each piece tells, Robin honors and explores Bridgeport’s manufacturing past in her unique jewelry creations and works of art.
