This workshop offers explorations into drawing foundations in an expectation-free environment. Our goal is for you to integrate art into your life in a meaningful way, expanding process into practice using multiple media and exploration of color.

Course is open to all levels of experience, ages 15 and up

Location: The MAC’s Firehouse Gallery, 81 Naugatuck Ave Milford CT

Time: Tuesday eves 7-9pm October 15 through November 19

Price: $165/6 week course

Instructor:  Merrilee Main, artist with 32 years of experience creating and instructing visual arts curricula.

Suggested material List

11 x 14" or larger pad of paper, your choice

Your choice of drawing media that can include: pencil, charcoal, chalk pastel, oil pastel, marker, pen and ink, brush and ink, watercolor, or gouache

Remember to include a pink eraser for pencil and a rubber (kneaded) eraser for charcoal as well as brushes and a container to hold water if you are planning to use fluid media.

Any other creative media combination for fun and exploration

Optional

additional media to experiment with such as graphite sticks or conte crayons

aluminum table easel to hold your drawing pad in an upright position

additional papers or drawing surfaces to experiment with such as toned charcoal paper
