landscapes: vast & intimate

October 17th – November 9th

Call for Artists!


For this show, the MAC and Coastal Arts Guild of CT challenge you to rethink how you look at landscapes. For example, consider the perspective of an ant or giraffe as they view a scene. Try focusing your view by looking at the ground near your feet, or straight up through the branches and canopy of the trees. Realism or abstract; all styles encouraged.

Submission Instructions and Guidelines

Electronic submission deadline is Friday, October 4 at 11:59 PM. 
Walk-in submission deadline is Saturday, October 5 at 12:00 PM.


All art, whether submitted online or in person, must be delivered to the second floor of the Milford Arts Council at 40 Railroad Ave S, Milford, CT because there will be another show in the Firehouse Gallery and it will not be available for drop off during the submission times. Artwork will be transported to the Firehouse Gallery in time for the show.

Drop off times

Friday, October 4, 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Saturday, October 5, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Even if you completed the online submission form, you will be asked to fill out a paper submission form and label(s). Save time and download and complete the submission form and labels here.


One or two original, 2- or 3-dimensional artwork(s) accepted, any medium
2-dimensional works MUST BE securely wired for hanging or they cannot be accepted for this show, no exceptions.

Artwork Size

24″ x 36″ maximum 2D size (including frame)

Submission Fees

$25 for one, or $35 for two
Members of MAC & CAGCT get a $5 discount off the total fee
For walk-in submissions, make checks payable to Coastal Arts Guild of CT
There are no refunds on submission fees.

Submission Review and Acceptance of Artwork

All work received electronically will be reviewed by an adjudication jury who will evaluate the work based on how it interprets the prospectus, its execution and quality.
Walk-in submissions will be adjudicated following the close of submissions, Saturday, October 5. Artists who submit electronically and are not selected by the jury will be notified before Friday, October 4
Only artists who are not selected will be contacted. If you are not contacted regarding the jury’s decision, you were accepted.
Works not selected by the jury must be picked up at the Milford Arts Council, 40 Railroad Ave in Milford between Tuesday, October 8 – 11 between 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Opening reception and Sale

Thursday, October 17, 5:30-7pm

Artist pick up

Artwork can be picked up Sunday, November 10 between 12:00 – 4:00 PM at the Firehouse Gallery, 81 Naugatuck Ave, Milford.

Artwork not picked up within 7 days after November 10 will become the property of MAC. Please call to arrange for pick up 203.878.6647
