The Milford Arts Council is thrilled to present “A World of Wonders: A Celebration of Black Creativity” hosted and curated by Raheem Nelson, Milford Arts Council’s Social Media & Marketing Specialist. 

The exhibit will include some of CT’s most incredible artists to celebrate Black History Month. A variety of artworks in different genre will be on display.

There will be special events programming during the exhibition.

Film Screening: REDRESS

Tickets $10

Join us for a special film screening of the animated short film, REDRESS from animator and filmmaker, Christopher Ortiz. There will be a Q&A to follow.

About the film: When Samuel Thompson visits his father Alex and learns the truth about his mother, Samuel is then faced with taking on the task bestowed upon him by his father. Will Samuel let Vengeance go or continue to let it curse his family?

About the filmmaker: Christopher Emile Ortiz (C-E-O) is a Queens-based rapper, artist, songwriter, and filmmaker that’s in the midst of his climb from struggle to success, taking charge of his story through the mediums he knows best. Fueled by his love of music and passion for film, C-E-O combines all of his skills to create his art.  Graduating with a B.F.A. in Film & Animation, Chris created his short film REDRESS while attending college at the School of Visual Arts from 2006-2011.

About The Curator: Raheem Nelson is an Artist based in New Haven, CT. He went to the School of Visual Arts and completed his education with a BFA in Cartooning. He has a background in traditional cartooning and oil painting. Currently he creates his personal and professional work on an iPad using the Procreate app. He specializes in Graphic Recording, Portraits and Pop Art. Raheem’s work has been featured by NFT NYC 2023, Arts and Ideas, The Shops at Yale, New Haven Cultural, The Arts Council, The Tie Bar and Power to The Patients.
